Abstract
This study aims to explore the effects of social environmental factors on college students' individual resilience and stress. Results confirmed the mediating role of the individual resilience between the community resilience and the level of stress. That is, a higher community resilience led to higher levels of individual resilience, which resulted in lower levels of stress. Furthermore, the moderating role of institutional trust was found. The effect of community resilience was stronger for those with high levels of institutional trust than those with low levels of institutional trust.
